Embattled Club Africain Have a Few Hours To Pay Ex-Player’s Wages As FIFA Ban Looms

North African side Club Africain are on hot bricks as they race against time to pay off wages of a former player, failure of which would land them in trouble with FIFA.

North African side Club Africain are on hot bricks as they race against time to pay off wages of a former player, failure of which would land them in trouble with FIFA.

Yoann Touzgha was lured to the Tunisian giants in 2015 after ending his love affair with Lens but his stay there lasted no more than twelve months.

The club couldn’t foot the wages of the Tunisian international, leading the striker into instituting legal action against his home-based outfit to FIFA.

The world football governing body accepted the player’s version of events and found his former employers culpable of wrongdoing.

The Reds and Whites are cornered in a quagmire with fans having to make donations to cater for players’ salaries and cover administrative costs.

The former Tunisian league champions and Cup winners are still to recover after ex-chairman Slim Riahi allegedly pillaged the club’s coffers in 2016.

Since then, they’ve run into trouble countless times with former players also on their neck for wages owed to them.

This season alone, CA have been sued a dozen times by former stars for the aforesaid reason compared to the previous campaign.

FIFA had to deduct them six points in the new season though efforts are being made to recover the points after club top dogs managed, somewhat, to clear the debts via trust funds and donations  by supporters.

They have until today 2nd January, 2020 to clear Yoann Touzgha’s wages or risk getting banned following the near elapse of a 30-day FIFA ultimatum.

Yoann now plies his trade with French second-tier side Troyes.
