Cameroon Comes From Behind to Deny Debutants, Guinea-Bissau in a Thrilling First Group A Win

Guinea-Bissau took the lead after Piqueti made a blistering run backed by speed and skill to take the ball nearly the length of the field and lash it into the roof of the net. For a good 48 minutes, Guinea was leading the four-time African champions and former World Cup quarter-finalists.

The possibly biggest AFCON 2017 upset happened when Cameroon equalized through Sébastien Siani, who hit a first-time shot into the bottom left corner and later, defender Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui, sent home another low strike to give Cameroon its first AFCON win since 2010.

The 2-1 win puts the Indomitable Lions on top of Group A ahead of Sunday’s clash against Gabon.
