The Indomitable Lions Roar to AFCON Finals

Cameroon will play Egypt in Sunday’s final after knocking out Ghana. The Black stars went into the game without Asamoah Gyan who has been to the semi-final six times but never won the tournament. His absence placed a very heavy goalscoring burden on the Ayew brothers.

It was Cameroon that showed enthusiasm in the early minutes of the game although delivery of the ball into the box lacked the quality of a good pass. Ghana’s Razak Brimah made fine saves to keep the Indomitable Lions out.

Ghana seemed to have gained control in the second half as Jordan Ayew sent a low ball into the six-yard box but Cameroon keeper denied Andre Ayew the chance.

Ngadeu-Ngadjui put Cameroon ahead in the 71st minute when Brimah came off his line to intercept a free kick only to distract Boye who headed the ball backward, to perfectly land it for Ngadjui who controlled and shot from an acute angle into the back of the net.

The second and final goal came through a wonderful counter attack where Aboubakar played a pass to Christian Bassagog who sprinted forward to flip it past Brimah.

It was game over for Ghana as the Cameroonians started early celebrations with a deserved win after outplaying the former.
