Burkina Faso Advanced to the Quarter-finals of the African Nations

Burkina Faso qualified for the next round after a 2:0 win over Guinea Bissau. A Rudinilson Silva own goal forced by Préjuce Nakoulma when he got to the rebound inside the box to rifle the ball low inside the left post.  
It was Burkina Faso causing all the threats as Betrand Traore weaved through the defence only for his shot to be blocked and Charles Kabore wasting the chance when he sent his header wide.

Guinea Bissau’s close chance came through Piqueti who ran and managed to keep the ball at his feet despite defenders’ attempts to tackle him. He sent the strike which was easily stopped by the keeper.

Betrand Traore finished off his beautiful individual effort with a superb strike from inside the box to force an OG from put Burkina Faso 2:0 up.

Aldair latched onto a cross inside the box, controlled the ball and sent a fine strike towards the middle of the goal forcing Koffi  Kouakou into a glorious save. Guinea Bissau continued applying pressure but kept missing their chances as well.

The game didn’t have as many thrilling moments but it was the visitors who certainly had the upper hand.

Guinea Bissau become the second team after Uganda to be eliminated from the Tournament.
