USM Alger Scoops Eighth Algerian Premier League Title

USM Alger have secured their eighth Algerian Premier League title after beating last season’s holders CS Constantine on Sunday evening.

A goal each from Meziane, Prince Vinny Ibara Doniama and Mohamed Rabie Meftah proved enough to inflict damage reducing Constantine’s initial equalizer via Belkacemi to a mere consolation.

It was a meeting The Reds and Blacks couldn’t afford losing in a drama-filled final league game day. Giving a draw would have blown away their chances and see second-placed JSK Kabylie finish winners.

Kabylie, who were nearly derailed by late payment of salaries, have trailed USM all season.
