Ghanaian midfielder Bernard Marrison has expressed his excitement after scoring for Dar es Salaam giants Yanga Africans (Yanga) as they defeated their arch-rivals Simba 1-0 in a Tanzanian Premier League match on Sunday.
Marrison scored the match-winner through a free-kick taken from the right-hand flank in the 44th minute, helping Yanga pick six points from the Red Lions this season.
The former Orlando Pirates man had promised Yanga supporters a goal and he delivered it at a crucial moment when tears were already flowing from the eyes of team supporters as Simba had displayed a beautiful game before the goal.
“First of all, I thank God, all the fans and everyone who turned out to support us today. It was my first experience of the derby and I am happy that we won,” Marrison said after the game.

The talented Morrison had earlier on failed to break the deadlock in the 11th minute after good build-up with Ditram Nchimbi inside the box before the latter missed two more chances before the quarter-hour mark.
The win sees Yanga increase their tally of 50 points, keeping their slim hopes of winning the league for the second time in a row.
Simba are still the clear leaders at the top with 68 points but Yanga have two matches in hand.
