Tusker To Face CS Sfaxien as Gor Mahia Land Otoho d’Oyo

The CAF Confederation Cup draw for the last round of playoff matches has been conducted with Kenyan Premier League sides Tusker and Gor Mahia knowing their opponents.

Tusker have been draw to Tunisian side CS Sfaxien while Gor Mahia will take on Association Sportive Otohô from Congo-Brazzaville in the second Qualification round.

The Brewers were eliminated from the CAF Champions League after losing 5-0 on aggregate to Zamalek hence dropping to Confederation Cup.

Gor Mahia, on the other hand, qualified for the final preliminary round of the competition after being granted a walkover after their Sudan opponents Al Ahly Merowe of Sudan withdrew from the competition. The KPL giants had won the first leg 3-1 played at the New Suez Canal on October 15.

KO’gallo,who won the Mandela cup title 1987, before it was renamed to Confederation Cup must navigate through the tricky Congolese giants.

If both sides sail through, they can face each other in the group stage set for next month.

Meanwhile, five-time African champions TP Mazembe have been pitted against South African side Marumo Gallants while their DR Congo counterparts  Darling Club Motema Pembe will face Niger’s champions  USGN.

The first legs of the competition will be played on November 28th, 2021 with the return legs scheduled a week later( 5th December 2021.)
