South Africa Premier Soccer League outfit Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC have reportedly signed former Glasgow Celtic striker Amido Balde.

The 29-year-old was on the books of Vietnamese side Ho Chi Minh City FC last season and has since been without a club.

Balde arrived in Mzansi a fortnight ago and is expected to be announced by the club on Friday after passing his medicals.

According to a reliable source, talks regarding the player’s potential move to TTM began in October and the star is now set to be unveiled at the new club.

The towering 1.93-metre centre-forward had previously been a target of PSL outfit Free State Stars but the move failed to materialize due to his huge salary demand.

Balde has been at more than 15 clubs including Sporting Lisbon, Vitória Guimarães in Portugal and Scottish Premier League club, Celtic.

While with Sporting, he had loan spells with Santa Clara in the Portuguese second tier, Badajoz in the Spanish Third Division and Cercle Brugge in Belgium’s top flight.

This will be his second return to Africa having previously turned for Angolan outfit Sport Luanda Benfica, a club that he joined after leaving French Ligue One outfit Metz.

Baldes’s  last game for Guinea-Bissau was against Liberia in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier on the 13th of October 2015.He has scored once in four appearances for Guinea-Bissau.
