Former Watford striker, Odion Jude Ighalo is at the finishing stages of a proposed orphanage in Ijegun Lagos.
The new Changchun Yatai player disclosed this in a picture he shared on social media platforms; Twitter and Instagram.
He captioned the photo: ‘All thanks to God for the work so far’ displaying a photograph of his multi-million-naira one-story building that looks set to open soon.
In an interview with FIFA.com last year, the Changchun Yatai striker explained why he’s always part of different charity projects saying,
“I don’t really want to talk too much about it. It is more important to do something rather than talk about it.

“That is why I do that. Hopefully I can inspire more people to do something for those who are less fortunate.
The roof of the building is boldly inscribed ‘IGHALO ORPHANAGE HOME’ with a sculpture in honor of his trademark goal celebration pinned on the wall.
The orphanage is located at Kudeyindu Estate in Ijegun, Lagos and according to the photos shared, is near completion.
Ighalo grew up in the squalor of Ajegunle in Lagos before making it to the big league but has always been very passionate about charity.
Many were inspired by his kind gesture and are hoping this will set an example for other African players to give back to their home communities and help in one way or another.
