Somalia Remains Stagnant In FIFA Rankings

Somalia national team, Ocean Stars ,has neither gained nor lost ground in the latest FIFA rankings released on Wednesday.

The Ocean Stars remains at number 186 globally in the latest rankings released by World football governing body.

Somalia were inactive in the March international break as they were out of 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers thus their total points remained at 879.

In Cecafa region, Uganda remain the best ranked country at position 84 while Kenya moved two places to position 102 followed by Sudan  in position 123, Rwanda 129, Tanzania 137, Ethiopia 140 Burundi 142, South Sudan 169, Djibouti 183 and Eritrea 203.

2019 African Cup of Nations beaten finalists Senegal remain the top-ranked team in the continent, dropping two places to position 22 while Tunisia come second, four places below Teranga Lions.

Nigeria are ranked 3rd in Africa and 32nd in the world while African champions Algeria are fourth and 33rd globally.

Belgium retained their crown of being the top-ranked team in the world while World Champions France come second with Brazil, England, and Portugal rounding off the top five respectively.

The biggest gainers in the rankings are Guinea-Bissau who moved 11 places to position 108 with Namibia almost matching them with a jump of ten places.
