Simba Appoint Pablo Franco as New Head Coach

As they look to overturn their lacklustre performances this season, Simba Sports Club have appointed a new coach in form of Spaniard Pablo Franco Martin.

The Msimbazi Reds announced the appointment on Saturday afternoon just two weeks after parting ways with Didier Gomes Da Rosa.

In a statement on the club’s social media pages, Simba said the 41-year-old replaces the Frenchman who left the club after recent elimination from round 32 of the CAF African Champions league.

“We are delighted to announce Pablo Franco Martín as our new Head Coach. Welcome to Simba SC, Coach Pablo. #NguvuMoja,” Simba said.

Horoya AC coach Lamine N’Diaye,Wydad Casablanca’s  Miguel Angel Gamondi and Sredejovic Milutin ‘Micho’ of Uganda national team were some of the names linked with the hot seat.

Franco holds a UEFA Pro License and at one time worked under Julen Lopetegui in 2018 at Spanish giants Real Madrid.

He could b in the touchline when they face Ruvu Shooting on November 19 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium once his work permit is finalised.

Simba sit second on the Tanzania Mainland Premier League log table with 11 points from five games and Franco will be tasked with ensuring that the club returns to continental glory as far as their silverware ambitions are concerned.
