Sierra Leone: Ports Authority Defender Confident Ahead of New Season

Ports Authority FC strong back Mohammed Lamin Bangura is looking forward to the new season of the Sierra Leone Premier League.

Ports Authority FC strong back Mohammed Lamin Bangura is looking forward to the new season of the Sierra Leone Premier League billed to kick off on January 26.
The former Kissy All Stars defender is confident the Dockers will not disappoint their supporters when the season gets underway after nearly five years due to a protracted power struggle at the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA).

Determination
“We are ready to play and, most importantly, we are all willing to work hard for the team,” the player said in an exclusive interview with Ducor Sports.
“We are mentally and physically ready. The supporters must just know that we aim at making them happy this new season.”
On a personal note, the skilful defender expressed his confidence in doing well and making a move to Europe before the end of the season.
“I always dream big, I see myself playing in one of the great clubs of the world in the next five years,” he added.

The youngster has been a key member of the Ports Authority in the last four seasons. Bangura has so far played over 60 games for the club- scoring 15 times, with his performance earning him four caps for Leone Stars.

“Big clubs like Manchester United and Barcelona excite me,” he concluded.
Sierra Leone is still under FIFA’s suspension over alleged government interference.
The decision by the world football governing body came after the West African country’s anti-corruption commission (ACC) set aside the FA President Isha Johansen and secretary general Christopher Kamara over corruption which both deny.
