Experienced coach Nikola Kavazovic, who is linked with Free State Stars, has been spotted in Bethlehem but the South Africa Premier Soccer League outfit insists it has not invited the Serbian to the country.

The Serbian trainer was lodging at Gemsbock Cottage in Bethlehem after he was linked with the technical directorship of Ea Lla Koto, according to a reliable source.

Ducor Sports understands that the 43-year-old former AFC Leopards manager held talks with unnamed officials on Monday night at the posh hotel ahead of his reported imminent appointment as Free Stars head coach.

But the PSL side has swiftly rebuffed the report insisting that they have not yet settled for whom to take over from Luc Eymael.

“Maybe it is one of the Division One sides who want to employ him but certainly not the Free State Stars,” a senior official of the club told this website.

“This is the work of agents who are toying with the media by sending journalists on a ghost chase. There is nothing in this report. Quickly disregard it.”

Kavazovic dumped Kenyan Premier League side, AFC Leopards just 43 days after taking over the reins.

The Serbian informed reporters that he was heading to attend to a relative who was unwell, but it later came into the limelight that he had fallen out with the management after they failed to grant him a salary advance.

Few other coaches including Ernst Middendorp and Zlatko Krmpotic are competing against Nikola for the top job which is currently held by Selaotse ‘Sly’ Mosala and David Vilakazi who are acting as interim coaches.
