The boxing qualifiers for Tokyo begins this month with the tourney will be staged in Dakar.

Beginning from February 20th running through to the 29th, the West Africans have a total seven boxers, six men and a woman all fighting to snatch places for the Olympics in Japan.

“Senegal has made a realistic choice in the sense that we told ourselves that the objective of this tournament is to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics,” he said.

Harping further, he said: “It was necessary to put a lot of chances on our side by insisting on the preparation and especially on the financial aspect. And for that, the federation appealed to Senegalese boxers abroad and some of whom come from London, France and the United States of America to make sure that they can get us results in this competition.”
