Senegal Come after Koln’s Winger Jakobs

Senegal’s FA have gone on a full-scale search to secure the commitment of German-born Koln winger Ismail Jakobs, Ducor Sports understands.

The defender came to the notice of Senegalese scouts following his impressive straight starts for the Bundesliga outfit.

This year has seen him break through, having risen through the ranks and he qualifies to switch his allegiance to the West Africans through his father.

Germany have made inquiries but it appears they’ve resolved to lose him to the Africans with whom the 20-year-old believes he stands a better chance of getting international minutes.

Despite this, if he goes ahead to desert his homeland, he would still need to prove his worth with a plethora of players also in contention for the left-winger role at the Taranga Lions.

Coach Aliou Cisse is scheduled to leave Dakar for Koln to begin talks with the forward.
