A local league coach in Tunisia has been axed two months after his appointment.

Alocal league coach in Tunisia has been axed two months after his appointment.

Tarek Thabet, a former Tunisian international, was ushered into the managerial role at the close of the last term.

He was brought on board to fill in the void created by the departure of predecessor Choktri Khatoui who resigned unexpectedly.

Tarek quit upon reaching an agreement with the movers of Ben Guerdane Sports Union, a premier league side in Tunis.

He went out of the door leaving the outfit rooted at sixth place in the fourteen team standings, amassing nineteen points in fourteen fixtures, getting shipped goals an incredible nineteen times.

The erstwhile Carthage Eagles’ position began to be untenable after his charges’ defeat to Monastir two weeks ago and upon yesterday’s 2-2 stalemate with relegation-threatened Metloui. The club chairman felt he had had enough.

A new man is yet to be named as coach.
