French coach Bernard Casoni has sued current Algerian league deputy leaders MC Alger to FIFA for damages, Ducor Sports understands.

The 58-year-old is without a club following his dismissal by MC in July last year and has forwarded his case to FIFA for judgment.

Highly credited for MC’s upward trajectory during his time there, Casoni believes he was wrongly sacked along with his entire backroom staff during what was a turbulent period.

In the complaint, the gaffer is willing to halt the legal process he has initiated against the side on condition the team’s board renege from its position and return him into his role.

Bernard had more than a year left on his deal prior to his axing costing in the excess of €264,000 which, including his entire staffs’ fees, amounts to over €500,000 during the period the deals would have ended.

The aforesaid fee is astronomical for MC Alger who, from reports reaching Ducor Sports’ desk, suggest the board appears willing to soften its stance and reinstate Bernard.
