Angolan giants Petro du Luanda have released Rwandese striker Jacques Tuyisenge just after one season with the club.

The 29-year-old joined Petro last July from Kenyan Premier League side Gor Mahia after impressing in a match against the Gabola side.

Tuyisenge, who signed a two-year deal with Petro last July, failed to impress after moving from the East African side at the beginning of 2019/2020 season.

The news had earlier been announced by the defender through his Facebook page where he bid farewell to the club and its fans.

‘I feel very grateful to have had an opportunity to be part of The Petro de Luanda family, it’s been a great Experience with you all, thank you for giving me the chance to fulfill my potential here. I wish you the best in this continuing journey,” Tuyisenge wrote on his official Facebook account.

Reports link him with Democratic Republic of Congo giants AS Vita though his agents have failed to confirm the matter.

Tuyisenge’s move to Petro remains the most expensive transfer involving a Kenyan club, second to the $1.6 million Sweden club IF Djurgardens paid to lure Michael Olunga from Kenyan Academy Liberty professionals five years ago.
