Nkana In Contract Renewal Talks With Star Defender

Zambia Super League champions Nkana FC are working hard behind the scenes to keep one of their big players at Kitwe.

Zambia Super League champions Nkana FC are working hard behind the scenes to keep one of their big players at Kitwe.

The Red Devils are locked in negotiations with the 29-year-old Musa Mohammed, whose contract expired two months ago.

The talks have resumed when speculations are rife on the Harambee Stars defender’s next step of action with various media reports linking him to Tanzania Premier League giants Yanga.

However, Mohammed told Safari Soccer that talks are in progress and he is hopeful he will eventually sign the dotted line.

“We are in the process of renewing the contract. We are still negotiating…so we will see what will happen…when we agree I will sign a new contract,” said Mohammed.

Mohammed has been with Nkana since June 2018 when he signed a two-year-contract with the Kitwe-based outfit.

He has been instrumental in Manfred Chabinga’s side winning the 2019/2020 FAZ Super Division title in a chaotic shortened season due to coronavirus.

Last year Mohammed was linked with a possible move to Sudan after Al Khartoum were reported to be monitoring his progress at Red Devils.
