Tanzania Premier League powerhouse Simba Sports Club hosted their official welcome for their new signings ahead of 2020/2021 season.

Tanzania Premier League powerhouse Simba Sports Club hosted their official welcome for their new signings ahead of 2020/2021 season.

The Msimbazi Reds had already confirmed the arrival of Chrisphine Mugalu, Joash Onyango, Bernard Morrison, Larry Bwalya, David Kameta, Charles Ilamfia and Ibrahim Ame, but last night they officially introduced them to their fans in colorful ceremony held at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

The glamorous occasion was also used to celebrate the club success in the recent concluded season where they won all the three major trophies. Simba retained the Tanzania Premier League title, won the FA Cup and as well as the Community Shield trophy.

East Africa’s most decorated artist Diamond Platnumz entertained the fans in an event that was attended by the club chairman Mohammed Dewji.

Dewji bragged that the club will be as usual competing for top honors both locally, in the region and on the continent.

“”I am not satisfied with only domestic success. My dream target is the African championship. Our main aim is to continue fighting and competing for the Champions League title but again managing to reach the group stage of the competition is our priority too,” he said.

The event that marked the climax of the ceremony was a friendly match where Simba beat Burundi’s Vital’O 6-0.

Last week, Simba unveiled their new logo where they dropped their slogan ‘Nguvu Moja’ in an effort of remaining relevant in the current market.
