Cape Verde are scheduled to have a friendly match against Andorra in October as part of preparations for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The match against the European minnows is scheduled to be played on Wednesday 7th October at the National Stadium of Andorra.

It will be the first friendly match since Pedro ‘Bubista’ Brito took over the side following the exit of Rui Aguas.

The Blue Sharks will pitch camp in capital Andorra la Vella where they will be gearing up for their Group F qualifiers against Rwanda in November.

Cape Verde is currently third in the group standings with two points after two rounds of matches, having been held by Cameroon and Mozambique in stalemates.

The Cape Verde Football Federation (FCF) also hinted the possibility of another friendly after the Andorra game.

“FCF still have another friendly game in perspective, still in October, which still needs official confirmation,” reads a statement from Cape Verde FA.

Cape Verde and Andorra have already met once in a friendly game, which was on June 3, 2018, in Lisbon.

The Blue Sharks won 4-2 on post match penalties after the match had ended goalless during normal time.

Andorra is a small country that is located between Spain and France with a population of around 80,000 inhabitants. She is a member of UEFA and regularly competes in UEFA competitions.
