Nigerian International Peter Etebo Completes Loan Switch To Watford

Nigerian midfielder Peter Etebo has completed a loan move to English Premier League side Watford in the current transfer widow.

Etebo signed a season loan deal with the club from English rivals Stoke City after passing his medical examination on Friday.

The Super Eagles midfielder spent last season on loan at Turkish top-flight side Galatasaray where he had a wonderful season.

He made 24 appearances in all competitions for the Lions having provided three assists in the process.

The 25-year-old will bid for to gain regular first-team experience at Watford and make the next few steps in his development.

Etebo has a five-year contract with Stoke, with the option to extend for a further year, and Michael O’Neill has previously said he believes the midfielder has a bright future.

The Lagos-born attacker joined Stoke City in June 2018 from Portuguese LigaPro outfit Feirense for £6.35m (7.2m euros) on a five-year deal.

He had spent the previous season on loan at La Liga side Las Palmas before signing for the English championship side, Stoke City.

Etebo made his international debut for Nigeria in March 2016 and has won 38 caps, scoring twice for the three-time African champions.
