Galatasaray Table Opening Bid For Al Ahly Striker Mohamed Sherif

Turkish Super Lig outfits Galatasaray have reportedly tabled a bid to sign Mohamed Sherif from Egyptian Premier League giants Al Ahly.

According to Arabic outlet Al Nahar, as quoted by Milligazete, several clubs, including the Lions, have expressed interest in signing the Egyptian marksman.

It is reported that Galatasaray have launched an initial $1-million bid in an attempt to land the services of the 23-year-old.

Mohamed Sherif, who has also attracted interest from across Europe and the Gulf region, is Al Ahly’s top goal scorer with 17 goals in 37 appearances.

Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim recently admitted he wants to buy two forwards as he prepares for the coming season.

“We’ll want to strengthen at the top end of the field, we need more of a goal threat, and we need to have a bit more physicality in the team,”said Terim

“I want to bring in one or two players who have that winning feeling. Maybe players who have won something or have that feeling of competing at the top end with their respective teams.”

Sherif joined Al Ahly from another Egyptian Premier League side Wadi Degla in January 2018 after agreeing a four-year- contract.

He failed to secure a spot in the starting line-up and was sent out on loan to ENPPI in August 2018.

He returned to the Red Devils in April 2020 after they club rejected all offers from ENPPI an one of unnamed Gulf clubs.
