A Nigerian footballer was left stranded in a Ugandan hospital over unpaid medical bills. Vincent Onyebuchi who is contracted to play for Express FC suffered a broken foot in a local league derby game which required a series of surgical procedures.

Express Football Club’s chairman Florence Nakiwala, went public to claim that the player’s medical bills were catered for even before the Nigerian got operated on.

Nakiwala is also reported to have recently said during a local radio show interview that Onyebuchi was recuperating well with plans to relocate him to another Medical Centre in Kampala and that all bills involving the player’s treatment, were cleared by the club.
