Nigeria Footballer Stranded in Algeria Finally Granted Visa

Nigeria footballer Uche Nwofor has been finally granted visa to join his Algeria club for pre-season in Germany, Ducor Sports understands.

The attacking-minded midfielder was left distraught upon hearing news that his teammates had been granted permits to travel to the European country except him.

The Lagos-born was scheduled to join Algerian premier league side JSK Kabylie to acquaint with his squad mates ahead of start of the new campaign following his move from domestic Nigerian outfit Rivers United.

JSK’s gaffer had looked forward to getting to see his new buy first-hand and on time before the visa drama.

Uche wasn’t permitted to fly with the German embassy in Algiers demanding he present further documents.

The news initially came much as a blow for coach Damous prompting the club to make contingency plans for the one-time Super Eagles man to train in Algiers before the team’s return.

However, he has now been granted visa according to a source but couldn’t partake in the team’s defeat to fourth tier German outfit Saarbrücken.

Nwofor first began his career with Shooting Stars in Nigeria before moving to Enugu Rangers prior to sealing a transfer to VV- Venla and Hererenveren in the Netherlands.

SK Lierse in Belgium became his next stop then Boavista in the Portuguese Primera Liga which culminated into a later switch to Slovakian giants AS Trencin before returning to Rivers United to revive his career.

He comes in to JSK with a hope of adding some needed creativity in midfield.
