The Nigerians are set to tackle the Copper Queens of Zambia in the third/fourth playoff on Friday in Morocco as they target a win.

Although they did well in the fight to retain their title, they were unfortunate to succumb to a penalty shootout defeat at the hands of Morocco on Tuesday night.

Nigeria ,who were chasing a tenth crown, felt hard done after seeing two players sent off in the second half after VAR reviews including their best-attacking star Rasheedat Ajibade.

In the Group stages, the Super Falcons finished second in Group C with six points from three matches, they went on to beat  Cameroon 1-0  in the last eight  before losing to Morocco in the semifinal.

Strikers, Ifeoma Onumonu and Rita Chikwelu are the women expected to continue leading the West Africans as they want to stun the Zambians.

Coming to the Copper Queens, their failure to lift the trophy means they will not be happy to finish as number four.

This means they will also fight harder and get a win to console their hard to please supporters around the continent.

Although they were seen as underdogs, Bruce Mwape’s charges will be under pressure to revive their pride and get a win on Friday.

Zambia will be missing the services of defender Lushomo Mweemba and goalkeeper Catherine Musonda due to suspension and injury.

In the last meeting between the two sides 21 November 2018 at the WAFCON, Zambia lost 4-0 to Nigeria.

The match gets underway at the Mohammed V Stadium at 22h00CAT and the winner is set to walk away with bronze medal.
