2024 WAFCON Qualifiers: Ghana Thrash Rwanda 7-0

Ghana’s Black Queens defeated Rwanda 7-0 in the first leg of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier (WAFCON) on Wednesday at the Kigali Pele Stadium.  

With a strong showing in both halves, the Black Queens team took control of the game early on and defeated the “She Amavubis” in the first leg.

Doris Boaduwaa’s second-minute goal set the tone for the afternoon, and Evelyn Badu added to it in the ninth minute after latching onto a pass from Grace Acheampong.

With a header in the 30th minute, Priscilla Adubea scored the third of the game.

Following the half, Black Queens’ Alice Kusi scored the game’s fourth goal in the 53rd minute, and Ghana’s Evelyn Badu added the game’s fifth goal in the 64th minute with a stunning strike.

Anastaesia Achiaa’s long-range goal in the 75th minute gave the Queens a six-goal advantage after Jennifer Cudjoe’s missed penalty in the 65th minute.

A few minutes later, Anastaesia scored her second, giving the Black Queens a 7-0 victory over their Rwandan opponents. 

The return fixture is scheduled for the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday September 26,2023.
