Nice Join Race For Ivory Coast Wonderkid Karim Kanote

French Ligue 1 giants OGC Nice are reportedly interested in signing Ivory Coast and ASEC Mimosas star Karim Kanote.

The 19-year-old is enjoying a sensational season in the African Confederation Cup and this has not gone unnoticed as a number of clubs are chasing his signature.

According to a report in Les10 Sports, Nice are considering making a move for highly rated striker and have already started negotiating with the prodigy’s representatives.

The same publication claimed that Kanote’s market value of €2 million is tempting for his potential suitor to prize him out of his Ivory Coast Ligue 1 side Mimosas.

Kanote has developed into a key player for Mimosas in recent months and was unsurprisingly rewarded with a first international call-up in September 2021.

He made his Ivory Coast debut against Mozambique in the nation’s World Cup qualifying clash and was part of the Elephants squad that took part in 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Nice face stiff competition in the race for the promising youngster. Kanote has also been linked with Austrian club RB Salzburg in the past couple of weeks.

It now remains to be seen whether Nice, or Salzburg could manage to convince Mimosas to part ways with their prolific marksman.
