Mali, Ecuador Friendly Confirmed

Mali will play Ecuador in an international friendly at Pratt and Whitney Stadium in Hartford, United States of America on June 11.

The Malian Football Federation (Femafoot) revealed they had secured the fixture on Monday.

Ecuador, who will be featuring at the 2022 World Cup, have been zoned against Senegal, Qatar and the Netherlands in Group A.

The game will be part of Mali preparations for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers that are set to begin later this month.

The Eagles will face Congo, Gambia and South Sudan in the Group G of the qualifiers that will be staged on May and will end in March 2023.

Before the Ecuador game, Mali are expected to have name a coach to replace Mohammed Magassouba who was sacked after failing to qualify for 2022 World Cup.

Former Nigeria national team coach Gernot Rohr, former Mali international Eric Chelle, as well as former Eagles coach Djibril Dramé and AS Otoho coach Alou Badra Diallo, as potential candidates for the national hot seat.
