Orapa United Winger Set For Trials With Egyptian Club

Orapa United winger Leeroy Mavunga has secured trials with Egyptian Premier League side Tala’ea El Gaish SC.

Mavunga, who joined the Botswana top-flight outfit in March, has completed all travel arrangements and is set to leave the country next month.

The trials has been arranged former Zamalek player Abdel Hamid Bassiouny who spotted Mavunga back in 2018 when during his trials with Portuguese side Clube Desportivo Feirense.

“Everything has been arranged, the agent has informed the player that the air ticket, accommodation and other needs will be catered for,” as source told Nehanda Radio.

He will then return to Zimbabwe to acquire a new passport before he flies to Egypt for the already scheduled trials.”[/perfectpullquote]

Mavunga is one of the most talented players in the local league, with his dazzling skills and pace, making him a nightmare for many defenders.

At 23-years, he has over 15 caps with the senior national team, and has two Cosafa gold medals to show for it.

He has also been invited for trials at Portuguese top flight clubs before, including at giants Benfica. Mavunga has, however, failed to find suitors on all occasions.
