Le Clos’ Pocked the Bear: Phelps Says His Win Was “Revenge”

On Monday night, Chad Le Clos engaged Micheal Phelps in psychological warfare. Considering that Le Clos had defeated Phelps in the 2012 London Games, it seemed like a good idea if he hoped to beat one of the greatest Olympians of all time.

Big mistake.

In their moment of truth, Phelps came out on top easily. If you’re a Le Clos fan, maybe you’ll find comfort in knowing that the Monday’s showdown didn’t change anything. Phelps has been waiting for this moment since 2012.

According to reports, Phelps admitted that this was “revenge.” He said: “There was so much emotion and so much build up for that race.

“I don’t want to say its revenge, but that’s what it was.”
