The Tunisian Football Association have been found guilty of wrongful termination of a former coach, Ducor Sports can report.

Faouzi Benzarti was fired July 2018 as Tunisia’s national team coach in a third spell on the Carthage Eagles’ managerial helm seven months prior to quitting Morocco’s Wydad Athletic Club.

It followed a string of unimpressive outings the squad suffered under his gambits leading the FA to part ways with him.

The decision didn’t go down well with the gaffer who felt he hadn’t been accorded enough time to stamp his fingerprints on the team.

Consequently, Faouzi consulted his attorneys to institute legal action against the FA, culminating in a prolonged back and forth at the courts.

A ruling was finally reached Friday evening with the FA found wanting of wrongful termination and asked to pay the club-less coach 134,000 dinars in compensation for damages.

The Tunisian FA is yet to react to the judgment in a matter coming as a huge sigh of relief for the nine-time Tunisian Premier League, CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup-winning coach.
