Jani Tarek Returns To FC San Pedro

Ivorian side FC San Pedro have officially announced Tunisian Jani Tarek as their new head coach.

Ivorian side FC San Pedro have officially announced Tunisian Jani Tarek as their new head coach.

The appointment comes as no surprise for the fans as he has been a long-time fan favourite – this will be his second stint with the club.

Tarek replaces Amani Yao Lambert Cesar who was shown the door in December last year after a series of dismal performances.

The 40-year-old was at the helm of the Pirates during the 2018/19 season and led the side to secure the domestic cup title before he resigned after a slight misunderstanding with the management.

“FC San Pedro is pleased to announce the return of coach Jani Tarek to the head of the senior team. Club president, Achicha Mohamed Ali recently had an interview with his coach and they agreed to resume collaboration to achieve the club’s objectives,” read a statement posted on the club’s social media pages.

“FC San Pedro takes this opportunity to thank its technical director, Laadibi Khemaies, who is always available to manage the senior team when the club needs it.”

It is reported Tarek will be on the touchline when the Pirates take on Algerian side Paradou AC in a CAF Confederation Cup group D fixture on Sunday, away in Algiers.

San Pedro’s supporters and administration will expect the new manager to lead the team to Ivorian League title and also progress to Confederation Cup quarterfinals.
