Felly Mulumba Leaves FC Platinum Without Playing

Former Bandari FC captain Felly Mulumba has left Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League giants FC Platinum without playing a game for the club.

Former Bandari FC captain Felly Mulumba has left Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League giants FC Platinum without playing a game for the club.

The 30-year-old joined the Platinum Boys in February after leaving the Kenyan Premier League outfit where he had a fruitful five-year stay.

Mulumba’s arrival in Mandava was met with a lot of fanfare owing to his profile and his contribution to the Dockers in last season’s African Confederation Cup.

The Congolese defender did not feature in any game at the Zvishavane side as the Zimbabwean league failed to get underway in March following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

The African Champions League was also delayed because of the pandemic and the players had to spend more time in lockdown.

“FC Platinum takes the opportunity to announce the departure of Felly Mulumba who leaves on mutual separation,” said the club chairman Smartfin Techu as per Nehanda Radio.

“The club is grateful for his commitment and wishes him well in his future endeavors.”

Mulumba has been residing in Zimbabwe since football activities in the South African country were suspended.

He is a well-travelled man in his football career, playing for AS Saint Luc of the Democratic Republic of Congo, KPL sides Posta Rangers, Sofapaka and Bandari.

He may be at the other end of his career, but has lots of top-fight football experience, racking up 160 appearances in the league for Bandari over the five seasons at the Dockers.

The centre-back won the GoTV Shield, the KPL Super Cup and the Sportpesa Shield with Bandari, with whom he only signed a new two-year deal in July 2019.
