“Disgusted” Algerian Club Coach Criticizes Players Ahead of Sunday’s CL Game

Coach Velud Hubert, it is revealed, harangued his players in an angry reaction following their 3-0 defeat to current Algerian Premier League table-toppers Belouizdad.

Coach Velud Hubert, it is revealed, harangued his players in an angry reaction following their 3-0 defeat to current Algerian Premier League table-toppers Belouizdad.

The loss, marred by the invasion of the pitch by fans, occurred last Tuesday.

Hubert, who secured TP Mazembe the Total CAF Champions League, was appointed as a replacement to Franck Dumas who managed a second-place finish for JS Kabylie in the North African nation’s league last season.

The French man was hired by chairman Cherif Mellal to replicate his Champions League feat with Kabylie but after the team’s first league defeat which had them slipping to fourth, three points behind the current leaders, Velud took particular umbrage at the result.

Hubert, an erstwhile French international, walked his players straight into the locker room where he reportedly gave them a severe dressing down.

The gaffer was left shaken by the outcome of the duel, asking his players to “wake up from their slumber” on time ahead of tomorrow’s return visit to Conakry for the fixture with Horoya.

The dressing down, a club insider tells Ducor Sports, lasted for minutes with players pinning their distraction down to the invasion by fans after the second goal as the reason.

JS Kabylie leads the first-leg on 2-0 and must retain the advantage to beat the Guinean giants to be assured of passage to the next round.
