CAF Champions League: Coach Micho optimistic Pirates Can Beat Horoya

Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Micho Sredojevic is confident that the Buccaneers can beat Horoya in their final group stages match of the CAF Champions League

Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Micho Sredojevic is confident that the Buccaneers can beat Horoya in their final group stages match of the CAF Champions League at Stadu du 28 Septembre in Conakry on Saturday.

The Sea Robbers are placed third in the group with six points, one adrift their Guinean opponents who are placed second.

A win for Bucs will see them sail through to the last eight of the competition, while a draw will be enough for Horoya.

Pirates have not had a good record away. Even at home they just registered only one win in the first-leg tie against Horoya, but Micho is confident that they can do the job and seal qualification.

“You remember against Esperance, we had a chance to win and we didn’t,” Sredojevic said.

“We had a tough match against Platinum, we had a chance to win and we didn’t. We look at ourselves critically, analyze the reasons and the cause of why didn’t we win.”

[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””] “What gives us confidence is that in the league we have collected 22 points away. Most of the points we have come from away games. That’s one source of confidence, but there are many others.”   [/perfectpullquote]

“As an optimist, as a person that believes and as a born winner and coach of this big club, in respect of the history, badge and millions of supporters, we need to be extremely positive. We believe in the work that we do with our players, we believe that we have what it takes to go out there and win,” added Sredojevic.

The other Group B match takes place simultaneously in Zvishavane in Zimbabwe, where Platinum will look for a consolation win at home to group winners Esperance.
