Super Eagles technical adviser Gernot Rohr has been dealt a great blow with on-form winger Samuel Kalu ruled out of 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Seychelles on March 22.

The Bordeaux youngster was initially named in the Nigeria squad that will also face Egypt in an international friendly four days after their last Group E qualifier.

Ducor Sports gathered that the Super Eagles winger picked up an injury during their pre-match warm-up exercises.

In his place, Rohr has called in Enyimba International left back, Ikouwem Udoh, who had been previously overlooked despite doing well for his Nigeria Professional Football League club.

Nigeria are top of Group E with ten points ahead of South Africa with nine, Libya with seven and Seychelles having one point.

The March 22 clash between the Super Eagles and Seychelles is their final qualification group game.

However, the three-time African champions have already qualified for the 2019 AFCON finals which will be staged in Egypt from June 21 to July 19.

Both Egypt and Nigeria have sealed qualification for the 2019 Afcon and have decided to begin preparation for the tournament with the friendly.

The game has been scheduled for the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba on March 26, the same venue that will host Seychelles match.
