Blick Junior Wins Kabalega Rally

Arthur Blick Junior was on Sunday crowned the champion of the Kabalega Rally after an impressive performance at the scenic Hoima District in Uganda.

Arthur Blick Junior was on Sunday crowned the champion of the Kabalega Rally after an impressive performance at the scenic Hoima District in Uganda.

Blick Junior clocked 1 hour, 41 minutes and 20 seconds navigated by George Semakula in a Mitsubishi EvoX.

Umar Mayanja finished second while Ashraf Ahmed came third navigated by Ali Katumba in a Subaru N14.

Mayanja clocked 01:41:40 while Ahmed clocked 01:54:58 at the end of the 362km event.

“What I can say is glory belongs to God. I have been longing for a win this season and now this is the second one,” Blick told reporters. “I am so excited about this win thanks to my sponsors and team manager who have ensured we had everything we needed for this event.”

In the fourth position came Yassin Nasser while fans favourite Ronald Ssebuguzi navigated by Leon Ssenyange dropped out of the race after a shaft problem.

Yassin Nasser who leads the series in his Subaru GVB noted; “The title is still in my hands. The consistency throughout the season will carry me to the end.”

Earlier, Rajiv Ruparelia navigated by Enock Olinga secured his second Clubman Rally Championship (CRC) victory, finishing the event in a time of 1 hour, 09 minutes 37 seconds.

“This has been a good experience and hope next year I will challenge for the national title,” said Ruparelia.

The next outing will head to Masaka for the MOSAC rally in November.
