Kenya’s Tundo Wins Rally Of Tanzania

Kenyan Carl ‘Flash’ Tundo has been crowned the 2021 ORYX Rally of Tanzania Champion after overcoming 10 grueling stages in his Volkswagen Polo R5.

Navigated by his longtime partner Timothy Jossep, Tundo clocked 2h7m36sec to secure his maiden victory in the Tanzania Rally that took place in Morogoro.

2021 Guru Nanak Rally winner Karan Patel came in second after clocking 2h10m35s, while Yasin Nasser from Uganda sealed the podium dash in 2h21m33s.

Fourth overall was South Africa’s Guy Botterill and his partner Simon Vacy-Lyle in a Toyota Etios R5 while Jeremy Wahome from Kenya finished in fifth place.

Tanzania’s Gurjit Dhani clichéd sixth place having clocked 2h26m14sec while Nikhil Sachania from Kenya finished at seventh place followed by countryman McRae Kimathi in a Ford Fiesta R3.

Tundo won three stages yesterday while today he scooped two stages, same as Karan Patel who won five stages with four of them coming on Sunday.

The two day rally started on Saturday with the shake down at Highland Estates farm followed by Pori East and Pori West stages.
