Bernard Casoni, Sacked by MC Alger, Refuses to Sign Papers Helping his Debtors

Sacked French coach Bernard Casoni has refused to pen documents helping ease tension hovering over his debtors’ shoulders.

Sacked French coach Bernard Casoni has refused to pen documents helping ease tension hovering over his debtors’ shoulders.

The 58-year-old is without a club following his axing by second-placed MC Alger on the back of his exit of the African Champions League.

He was dismissed with his entire technical staff and is owed thousands of euros in earnings of four months.

Angry over his laying off, Bernard had resorted to FIFA demanding he be paid the outstanding months or compensated for damages.

An injunction was granted technically blocking MC from installing his replacement on the managerial seat.

A new man has been identified to lead Alger but the ongoing case of Casoni with his employers means the new coach won’t be granted a work permit for now.

And constrained by the development of events, Alger have approached their former coach Casoni hoping to persuade him to sign documents ordering the injunction be lifted on the promise he would be paid soon – an arrangement he has since shunned, insisting he doesn’t trust the board.

“I’ve been waiting for three months. I haven’t seen anything coming in the form my money from the club. I can’t trust them,” he said.

The stand-off has merely compounded the North African team’s problems considering they play games without a proper coach giving instructions from the dug-out.
