Benin striker Mickael Pote has signed for a one-year deal with Turkish First League side Erzurumspor.

The 34-year-old’s contract with Erzurumspor’s Turkish rivals Adana Demirspor came to an end at the end of the season.

Pote is currently on international duty with Benin having played all Squirrels’ three matches so far at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

“We are happy to announce the arrival of Benin striker Mickael Pote. He joins us from Adama Demirspor on a one-year contract,” a club statement read.

Pote joined Demirspor in 2018 from Cyprus side APOEL and became an integral part of the first team where he started 24 times last season, scoring 19 goals before opting to continue his career elsewhere.

Erzurumspor is a relatively new club, as they were only founded 13 years ago in 2005.

The club is managed by Mehmet Altıparmak, who helped them achieved promotion to the Süper Lig two seasons ago.

Meanwhile, Guinea midfielder Amadou Diawara has joined Italian club AS Roma from another Italian club, Napoli.

The 21-year-old joins after spending three seasons with the Blues and previously featured for another Italian club, Bologna.
