Aston Villa Preparing to Offload Bertrand Traore in January

English Premier League side Aston Villa seen to be set to sell Burkina Faso winger Bertrand Traore against his wish after concerns were raised on his fitness.

Traore is set to be among three first team players set to be offloaded by Lions when the mid-season transfer window opens on New Year.

Besides Traore, Keinan Davis and Morgan Sanson could also be offloaded by Steven Gerrard in the next window.

Traore joined Villa in September 2020, had a good first 12 months where the winger scored seven Premier League goals from 36 appearances and 29 starts, but he has failed to replicate that in recent months due to a series of injuries.

Traore has played just 53 minutes of Premier League football divided into four games this season as he is yet to start a single game.

Villa paid £17m plus £2m in add-ons to get the signature of the Stallions winger, who was turning for French Ligue One side Lyon.

At Lyon, the Burkinabe endured tough moments in his last season as he featured in 35 matches, netting four goals and providing five assists in all competitions.

The forward has previously played alongside John Terry at Chelsea, Marvelous Nakamba at Dutch side Vitesse and Anwar El Ghazi at Ajax.
