Date Set for Al-Ittihad’s CAF Confederation Cup Clash with Enyimba

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a new date for the postponed CAF Confederation Cup play-off first-leg match involving Al-Ittihad and Enyimba.

Al-Ittihad were set to face Enyimba on Sunday, 28 November 2021 at Stade Mustapha Ben Jannet but Tunisian government refused to grant their visas due to Covid-19 issues.

Therefore the game got postponed, with the Confederation of African football confirming that the game to be played in Libya.

Ducor Sports can exclusively reveal that the continental body has since advised that, after negotiations with all parties concerned, the fixture will now take place on 17 December at a venue and time still to be confirmed by the Libyan Football Federation.

Both teams played their second leg match on Sunday where Enyimba claimed an early advantage by beating the Libyan side 2-0 in Nigeria.

Sadiq Abubakar and Victor Mbaoma scored the two important goals to keep coach Finidi George’s perfect start.

Before Sunday’s tie, Enyimba were unbeaten in eight games just as the Libyan team was on impressive form, losing only one of their last ten matches.
