Dumas passed away on Monday afternoon at a Conakry hospital where he was admitted three days ago after suffering a cardiac arrest.

The Brazilian coach, who previously managed Hafia FC, had been taken to the hospital on Friday in a critical condition and was later transferred to the Intensive Care Unit.

Confirming the information, AS Kaloum secretary-general Aboubacar Traore revealed that the coach had succumbed to an ailment.

“Coach Dumas is no more, he passed on a few hours ago. We are completely heartbroken by this tragedy,” Traore told reporters.

After turning professional at Esporte Clube Bahia in his native Brazil, Dumas spent a decade playing for various clubs including Santos and GD Chaves.

He became player-manager for Atletico Clube Lagartnese in 1987 before spells at Estanciano, Itabaiana among others clubs in his 32 year career.

Dumas also worked in several African countries, including Gabon, Sao Tome, Equatorial Guinea and Togo where he was in charge of national teams.
