Burkina Faso forward Prejuce Nakoulma has joined US Orleans on a free transfer until the end of the season, the French Ligue 2 side announced.

The 32-year-old, whom last played for Turkish Super League side Rizerspor this year, returns to France where he terminated his contract with FC Nantes late last year.

Several clubs were linked with the former Stallions captain including two German sides, Fortuna and Mainz but he has opted to play in Paris.

Orleans noted on their official portal: “We are delighted to announce the signing of Prejuce Nakaoulma who passed the traditional medical examination this morning.

“The ex-Nantes forward, who has spent time in Poland and Turkey, signed a six months contact without an extension option.”

Nakoulma played 12 games in all competitions for Rizerspor last season in his second stint in Turkey where he previously featured for Mersin Idmanyurdu and Kayserispor between 2014 and 2016.

The forward played most of his career in Poland where he played for six teams including Gornik Leczna, Widzew Lodz and most recently Górnik Zabrze.

Nakoulma has over 53 caps for Burkina Faso during which he scored 13 goals. He was also a member of the Burkina Faso squad that finished as runners-up in the 2013 African Cup of Nations.

Orleans currently sit bottom on the French Ligue 2 table with just 13 points in 19 games. They will face Chambly in their next game on January 10.
