Amir Abdou looks set to take over as the new coach of Mauritania top-flight outfit FC Nouadhibou, a reliable source has told Ducor Sports.

Even though the French-Comorian coach denied having received any offers on Friday morning, Abdou is believed to be on his way to the Orange club.

Abdou is currently the coach of Comoros national team and will be making his first appearance as a coach of a football club in Africa.

“They have to iron out a few things and the deal will be announced officially on Sunday,” the source stated.

Abdou has a lot of club experience from coaching a number of clubs in France including Entente Golfech-Saint-Paul d’Epsis and Golfech.

If appointed the 48-year-old’s first assignment will be an African Champions League preliminary round fixture at home against Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko on Friday 27 November.

He will still continue with his duties as Comoros national team head coach where he will be able to complete the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign with two last group matches against Togo and Egypt.
