Islam Slimani is on-fire for Monaco scoring a brace on Sunday in the former French Champions hard-fought 2-2 tie Strasbourg.

The forward, who joined from English Premier League’s Leicester City with an option of making his stay permanent, is the Stade Louis II’s standout performer in the last two outings.

The 31-year-old marked his debut with a goal against Nimes and plundered in a brace on Sunday to send his tally for the season soaring to three in two matches.

Strasbourg would launch a comeback via Kenny Lala’s penalty in the 39th minute and Adrien Thomasson to end the match in a 2-2 stalemate.

The French heavyweights are hoping Slimani’s scoring spree doesn’t cease as they battle returning to the big stage following a near relegation last season under Henry’s tenure.

Monaco are perched at second from bottom clutching a return of two points in a total four Ligue 1 games.
