Algerian Second Division Club JS Beja Players Go On Strike

Matters are far from smooth at relegation-threatened Algerian club JS Beja (JSB) with eighteen players on strike, Ducor Sports understands.

Matters are far from smooth at relegation-threatened Algerian club JS Beja (JSB) with eighteen players on strike, Ducor Sports understands.

Stars at the second division outfit have not received their pay some of them for six months.

They’d initially agreed to resort to radical means by avoiding coming for training as a show of their uncompromising stance against the club’s board.

Promises have been made without being honoured and players feel they’ve had enough.

Only five players decided to train yesterday evening while the eighteen others stayed away in continuation of the strike.

The club’s performance has consequently suffered with just two points between them and basement occupants USM El Harrach as they let in twenty goals in sixteen outings, scoring only twelve.

It’s unclear what follows next with the fate of the club in serious jeopardy as demotion looms, worsened by a deepening financial crisis.
