Algeria International Salim Willing to Amend Errors at Kabylie

Local-based Algeria international Salim Boukhanchouche is willing to right the wrongs at parent club JSK Kabylie after his row with coach Frank Dumas five months ago.

The 27-year-old had to be shipped out on loan at MO Bejaia for rest of the season after being found to have flouted the club rules.

In reaction, Kabylie’s hierarchy demoted him to the reserves costing him his place in the Algerian national team in the process amid allegations he hadn’t been collectively involved this campaign.

There were initial plans for his incorporation back to the first team but that required Dumas’ consent who, at the time, traveled out on an impromptu visit in Paris but excluded the midfielder immediately upon his return.

And having done time away in Bejaia where he failed to make much impact admitting to not understanding the club’s playing style even after eleven matches, Salim wants to make up for his past gaffes.

“I never adapted to the team’s game. I did eleven games but I never understood the game of the team (MO Bejaia). It was a lot of fun though but I did not want my name to be associated with downsizing at MO,” he says, upon the termination of his loan contract at Bejaia.

Boukhanchouche’s current deal with JSK ends June this year and hopes to ink the dotted lines on a revised contract, that however, will require the blessings of gaffer Dumas.

“I am under contract with JSK and I am ready to return without any worries. If the management calls me to start training, I‘ll take my things to start training,” he said.

Kabylie slipped to third in the league behind Paradou AC and table-topping USM Alger.
