Africa’s fastest lady in 200m has managed to make the IAAF World Games finals.

Earlier, Ivory Coast’s Marie Josee Ta Lou came third in the 100m finals, to beef up the continent’s rank in the Doha Games as the 30-year-old picked a bronze medal.

She, however, couldn’t line up for the 200m with Gambia’s Gina Bass the sole athlete from Africa to have made the cut this time.

The 24-year-old – a police officer back home –sped to 22.58 seconds in her heat to breeze through to today’s finals, Thursday 2nd October 2019.

On a downside, Bass has the lowest mark in the lead up to today’s race with Great Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith clocking the best mark on 21:89 seconds as her season-best (SB).
